About

Mission statement

Textbooks, classes, and grammar drills all have their place in learning Chinese. But if you really want to make progress, you need to read. A lot.

The trouble is, native content is often too difficult, and stories written for learners are usually so bland they put you to sleep.

This is where Plum Blossom Press comes in. By mixing learner-friendly Chinese with steamy plots and vivid descriptions, these stories stay fun, addictive, and unforgettable. The language is accessible, but the content is anything but boring.

My goal is to make reading in Chinese feel less like a chore and more like the kind of guilty-pleasure story you can’t put down. Hopefully these stories will accomplish exactly that!

About me

Hi! I’m Xiao Mei (小梅).

This all started as a private project. My boyfriend was (and still is) learning Chinese. He was struggling with how dry his graded readers were, so I began writing little steamy stories just for him. To my surprise, he found them extremely helpful. Now I’m sharing stories like those here, in case they can help you too!

I’m not a linguist or a big company. I don’t have teaching certificates or an HSK reference guide. I’m just spinning out stories that I hope will make you smile, blush, and (most importantly) keep turning the page.

If you’ve ever wished Chinese reading practice could feel fun, a little explicit, and addictive… welcome! You’re in the right place.
